Travel Egypt's Grand Egypt tour provides travelers with the opportunity to relax with an extended cruise of the Nile plus time to enjoy a visit to Alexandria, the city Alexander the Great built and Cleopatra made famous.

Travel Egypt's Grand Egypt tour includes Five star hotels with the comfort of superior or deluxe rooms plus your 5* Deluxe Nile cruise cabin will be located on the upper decks with panoramic views of the Nile. Included meals are a giant international buffet breakfast daily plus both ala carte and buffet lunches and dinners while on the cruise.

Egypt tourism should be relaxing. Travel Egypt Egypt tours are fully escorted from your arrival to Cairo, thus allowing you the opportunity to learn, relax, enjoy and immerse yourself in over 5000 years of ancient Egypt's history.

As part of a small group with never more than 16 travelers you will enjoy the personal attention that has made Travel Egypt famous.

Highlights include visits to the Giza plateau, featuring the Great Pyramid and Sphinx. The Egyptian Museum of antiquities where you will marvel at King Tut's treasures. Temples along the Nile from Luxor to Aswan and the city Alexander the Great founded but Cleopatra made famous. All costs associated with these visits including transportation, entry fees, guide, service charges, taxes and port fees are included in the tour price.

The Program:

Day 01: (Friday) Arrive Cairo, clear immigration and customs then staff will transfer you to the Le Meridien Pyramids hotel.  Overnight Cairo 

VISAS: All travelers to Egypt must have a visa. Citizens of most countries can obtain one on arrival. Please let us know what passport you are traveling with and we will confirm whether you can get your’s on arrival.

Day 02: (Saturday) International buffet breakfast, Visit Memphis (the ancient capital), Sakkarra with the Stepped Pyramid and Dahshur with it's famous Bent and Red Pyramids plus the new Imhotep museum. Overnight Cairo (B)

Day 03: (Sunday) Enjoy an international buffet breakfast and check out before starting the day at the Pyramids at Giza, home of the 7th wonder of the world, the Great Pyramid and the inscrutable Sphinx. Visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities featuring King Tut’s treasures. Afterwards staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Luxor. Arriving staff transfers you to the Sonesta Luxor Hotel. Overnight Luxor (B)
Optional: Sound and Light show at Karnak Temple $40 per person

Day 04: (Monday) Buffet breakfast, check out, staff transfers you to board the M/S Amarco or the M/S Royal Viking. Check in and have lunch. Afternoon free to enjoy Luxor. Dinner.

Dendara and Abydos Temples: $120 per person

Day 05: (Tuesday) Breakfast then visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor. Sail to Esna while having Lunch. Dinner. Overnight Esna. (B,L,D)

Day 06: (Wednesday) Breakfast, Lunch while sailing to Edfu. Visit the Horus Temple in Edfu. Dinner while sailing to Kom Ombo. Overnight Kom Ombo (B,L,D)

Day 07: (Thursday) Breakfast while sailing to Aswan. Arriving visit the High Dam, the Pharaoh’s granite quarries with the Unfinished Obelisk plus the Temple of Philae. Return to the ship for Lunch. Free time to enjoy Aswan. Dinner. Overnight Aswan. (B,L,D)

Day 08: (Friday) Breakfast with the morning free to enjoy Aswan or enjoy an optional excursion to Abu Simbel to see the famous temples of Ramses. (extra cost of $250 per person). Lunch on board. FREE BONUS: Sail on the Nile by Felucca (native sailboat). (Please note that these boats are solely wind powered, if there is no wind this will not operate). Dinner. Overnight Aswan. (B,L,D)

Day 09: (Saturday) Breakfast while sailing to Kom Ombo. Visit the Kom Ombo Temple. Lunch while sailing to Edfu. Continue to Esna, cross the river lock and sail to Luxor. Dinner. Overnight Luxor (B,L,D)

Day 10: (Sunday) Breakfast then visit the West Bank of Luxor including the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi Memnon. After the visit return to the ship for lunch. Afternoon free to enjoy Luxor. Dinner. Overnight Luxor (B,L,D)
Optional Tour of West bank sites not included in cruise: $95 per person (includes the Valley of the Queens, the tombs of the nobles and artisans, Medinet Habu, Ramessium, temple of Seti 1)

Day 11: (Monday) After your buffet breakfast, disembark, staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Cairo. Arriving transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to Alexandria, the city Alexander the Great built and Cleopatra made famous. Enjoy the comfort of the new Radisson Blu Hotel, right on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Overnight Alexandria (B on the ship)

Day 12: (Tuesday) Buffet Breakfast, A full day touring the wonders of Alexandria including the catacombs, the museums, the Greco-roman sites and the new library. Overnight Alexandria (B)

Day 13: (Wednesday) Buffet Breakfast, check out and return to Cairo. Lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy the comfort of the Marriott hotel. Overnight Cairo (B)

Day 14: (Thursday) After your buffet breakfast enjoy a tour of Old Cairo with it's famous churches and synagogue. Visit the Citadel of Salah el Din, bane of the crusaders and the Alabaster Mosque then end the day with a visit to the Khan el Khalili bazaar where travelers have been finding bargains since the middle ages. Overnight Cairo (B)

Day 15: (Friday) Staff will transfer you to the airport, assist with exit formalities and checking in for your international departure.

TOURS INCLUDE: OPERATES WITH NO MINIMUM AND A MAXIMUM OF 16 TRAVELERS. Domestic flights in Egypt in coach (economy) class. All transfers by air-conditioned vehicle relating to the tour program starting with arrival to Cairo. Baggage handling of no more than 1 piece of luggage per person however baggage and personal effects are at the owner's risk at all time during the tour (baggage handling does NOT include tips for bellmen, porters, etc.). Hotels (based on double occupancy). 5 star Deluxe Nile cruise with outside Nile view cabin, private bath, individual climate control. Meals as outlined by B for breakfast, L for lunch and D for dinner. Fees for visiting antiquity sites and museums. Services of an English speaking licensed Egyptologist. Service charges and taxes.
NOTE: During any of our small group tours people may join or leave at various times, however at no time would any group be larger than 16 travelers. We can provide private tours with an additional supplement. The cost depends on the tour chosen.

All hotels and the cruises have laundry/dry cleaning available.

Children's clothes are generally 50% of the adult cost.

Beverages

No drinks are included in tour prices. Some hotels and cruises give one bottle of water free daily others do not. As a general guide you could expect to pay:
Bottled water at hotels or on the cruise: $1 to $3 for a small bottle, $2.50-$5 for a large bottle.
NOTE: This is filtered water. If you order perrier it will cost more.
Coffee or Tea: 50 cents
Soft drinks (Coke, Pepsi, etc): $1 each
Alcoholic drinks:
Local beer: $3 per bottle
Imported beer: $5 to $8 per bottle
Wine: local $4 to $6 per glass. imported will be more $$.
Liquor: local $5 per cocktail + cost of mixer (soft drink, juice, etc), imported $8-$15 per cocktail + cost of mixer)
ICE: In the hotels and on the cruise the ice is prepared from filtered water.

Single Price is for Single occupancy hotel rooms and cruise cabins based on a minimum of two travelers. Single travelers (one person on the tour) would have additional cost.

FREQUENT TRAVELERS: You are welcome to arrange your own international air or we can assist if you are departing from the USA. Also if you are a member of any hotel chain frequent traveler program you are welcome to use your points for hotel rooms and the cost of the tour will be reduced accordingly OR if you want to accumulate points plus take advantage of membership hotel room upgrades let us know which program you want to use.
